"A voice of unique colour and beautiful facility. Combined with her impeccable timing on stage, Ariel is an up-and-coming talent to watch."

 -Colleen Renihan, Queen's University

Ariel Zaichick is a Canadian soprano originally from Mississauga, Ontario. She is now a 4th year B.Mus student studying at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Ariel has over 15 years of experience in voice, covering a wide range of genres. Ariel is an alumnae of Cawthra Park Secondary School, where she graduated with a Regional Arts Program degree in Voice (2013).

A “vocal chameleon”, Ariel loves singing in a variety of styles, including jazz, classical, opera and musical theatre.  Recent performances include Queen’s Opera Ensemble Scenes Concert (“Marie” from “La Fille du Regiment”), “Dido and Aeneas” (Second Woman), and Guest Artist for Bottle Tree’s “Divas, Duets and Quartets- a Musical Cabaret”.

This past summer of 2016, Ariel attended the Franco American Vocal Academy summer program in Périgueux, France, where she performed the role of “Vincenette” in Gounod's “Mireille”, directed by past Metropolitan Opera tenor, William Lewis.

Ariel has a strong background in choral music, having sung with the Cawthra Park Chamber Choir, Les Belles Classiques, Ritz Ensemble, Queen’s Choral Ensemble, Polyhymnia, She Sings! and the Kingston Chamber Choir over the last few years.

Upcoming performance highlights include Guest Artist for “If Walls Could Speak: An Evening with Darrell Bryan”, Guest Soloist for Eric Whitacre’s “Fly to Paradise” with the Eccentric Vocal Ensemble in Kingston, ON,  and the role of “Barbarina” in Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro” with Summer Opera Lyric Theatre (SOLT) in Toronto, ON.

In addition, Ariel has a passion for teaching voice. In 2015, Ariel operated a private studio of 12 students. This upcoming summer, Ariel will be teaching out of her home studio in Mississauga, Ontario.
