Vera Causa Opera is made up of an amazing team of inspiring, passionate individuals, who work together to bring the community accessible opera performances for all.
Throughout the summer, we'd like to showcase the team members and what they do for VCO.
Next up, get to know our Content Coordinator: Breanna Lalonde!
Tell us about yourself! I’m a passionate communicator who is always looking for new opportunities to impact my community. I’m from Strathroy, Ontario, but moved to Cambridge for college and have loved living here ever since. I love the arts and have been involved with dancing, singing, theatre, writing and painting for as long as I can remember. I’m a PR graduate who loves nature and animals, and have always wanted to contribute to causes in my community! What was it about VCO that made you want to be a part of it?
The first opportunity I had to work with VCO was as my client for Creative Day for Social Good (CD4SG) last September. I immediately connected with the mission and goals of the organization, and decided that I wanted to be involved in any way I could!
How long have you been with VCO?
I joined the VCO team officially earlier this year, and have been behind-the-scenes for 4 months now!
What has been your favourite memory/experience with VCO?
After I had the opportunity to work with the VCO team and cast/crew at CD4SG in Fall 2019, I got to attend the most recent production of the Dino Opera & Rapunzel. It was surreal to see the marketing materials my CD4SG team created being used at VCO events, and I loved seeing the cast and crew passionately involved in the show. I had such a fun experience as an audience member, and it made me even more sure that I wanted to be a part of this awesome organization! Joining the team has been one of the best and most fulfilling decisions I’ve made.
What are three words to describe VCO?
I ask people this question all the time and love to hear their answers, but it’s honestly challenging!
Innovate. Entertain. Evolve.
As the content coordinator, what would you say is your biggest challenge in creating new VCO content, especially during COVID?
The biggest challenge in managing and creating content is to stay engaging and informative. We want to share so many stories with our audiences at shows, and on a broader level, on our social media- we only have a short opportunity to do so! Especially now as there is so much distracting information online. Even though it’s challenging, it’s also exciting to strategize with the team and come up with new ways to tell our stories through our media!
Thanks for all the incredible work you do for VCO, Breanna! Check back in September to see our next team member highlight.
